Governed by the CRN executive steering committee, a strict selection process is followed prior to a new member being accepted into the network. About Scott McNelley and Admiral Movers

Scott McNelley started Admiral Movers 23 years ago in Montgomery, AL, as an office moving company and has led it through several phases of growth. Today Admiral is an agent for Mayflower Transit and performs local, long distance, and international residential moves, but still finds its specialty in office and industrial relocations. Admiral Movers is an award-winning industry leader and is home to several service-marked, revolutionary techniques that have changed the way offices are relocated. AirGlide Computer Moving and the Office Gondola System work in concert to transform office relocations with a box-less moving solution. Moving hospitals, plants and offices easily and painlessly with this method is one of the many accomplishments that have won Admiral Movers its outstanding reputation. As an outgrowth of file transfers, Scott diversified his business in 2007 when he launched Admiral Records Management.

How Admiral Movers Earned the Trust of BankTrust for Their Big Move

How Admiral Movers Earned the Trust of BankTrust for Their Big Move

Facing a huge multiple-office move, BankTrust knew they would need an experienced mover with the ability and specialized expertise to move approximately 200 employees to a new location securely and with minimal downtime.  They chose Admiral Movers for the job.

Why?  Because Admiral Movers, a Mayflower agent, offers easy solutions to all of their moving challenges.

Challenge #1:  Need Total Coordination of a Large Move Involving Approximately 200 Offices

It is difficult enough to move everything from one location to another, but with about 200 locations, BankTrust knew they needed some expert help.  They needed:

    • a comprehensive budget for the entire move
    • a plan for the move that ensured everything would come together from all of their locations as quickly as possible in their new location
    • a coordinator to make sure the movers and their other vendors could access the space in the order they needed to without conflicting or colliding with each other.  That way, essential services like voice and data connectivity would already be set up in anticipation of their arrival, there would be no parking, loading, unloading or access conflicts, and each stage of the process would be handled in the most efficient order.

For this challenge, Admiral’s Total Office Move Management was the perfect solution.

Challenge #2:  Need to Ensure Delicate, Expensive Computer Equipment is Moved Safely and Securely

BankTrust has a great deal of expensive and specialized computer equipment, and needed to know their most valuable physical assets were in good hands who would properly protect them during the transition.

Admiral’s Air-Glide Computer Move System is part of their IT Relocation Support Services, and ensures all electronics are protected by heavy-gauge, anti-static bubble wrap, securely locked down on computer carts for maximum stability, and then air-glided to their final destination.  No damage, no problem!

Challenge #3:  Need Guaranteed End-to-End Security of Confidential Information During the Move

Customer financial information is among the most highly-protected there is—there is absolutely no room for exposure of confidential information whatsoever.  The penalties are just too high.

Admiral offers Secure Chain-of-Custody Relocation, which ensures total compliance with all security requirements during your entire move, from packing to unpacking and everything in-between.  So BankTrust knows without question they (and their customers) will be fully protected during the move.

Challenge #4:  Need Someone They Can Trust to Handle the Job Right, with Total Accountability

Admiral has a proven track record of service and success in complex, multiple-location moves involving expensive equipment and requiring ultra-tight security—the certainty that the move would be done right is what finally convinced BankTrust that Admiral would be the right choice.

If your firm needs help with a big move, let a true professional sweat the details for you—please contact Admiral today to learn more about our full menu of specialized moving services!

Admiral was selected by a committee of business leaders in the Montgomery community as the Small Business of the Year in Division II, with 11-25 employees. McNelley said Admiral hasn’t always been “all set,” and there were some hard years at the beginning. The company was founded in 1989, when McNelley and his partner had only one truck. Six years later, the truck was lost in a fire.”It was a funny thing – for about a year and a half, we were a moving company without a truck,” McNelley said. Despite the obvious setback, McNelley said the loss of the truck was really a lynchpin moment for Admiral.

“We had to watch every dollar, show great care with our customers and make smart business decisions in order to survive, and that proved to be a successful way to run our business,” McNelley said. Since then, Admiral Moving, Inc. has continued to thrive and build a presence in the Montgomery community, particularly after affiliating with Mayflower Transit in April 2006.

Admiral Records Management adds latest technology and software

MONTGOMERY–Customers of Admiral Records Management now have access to the latest advances in records and information storage technology and software.

Admiral is the only company in the River Region offering InfoKeeper Records Management Software for secure online indexing, retention scheduling and other data management needs. The system provides secure online retrieval whenever boxes or files need to be accessed by customers, be they paper documents, medical records, blueprints, legal exhibits or other material stored with Admiral. While hospital networks, law firms and major corporations use the same solution in other markets around the country, Admiral is excited to be the exclusive provider rolling the software out to customers in Central Alabama.

The system can be personalized to make customer indexing fast and easy. “Added to all the custom features and easy-to-use interface are powerful security tools that should give customers incredible peace of mind,” said Admiral Records’ owner Scott McNelley. “The low cost (including zero ‘per user’ fees) makes the software an attractive solution for any business or organization managing less active information assets.”

Also introduced is a new route management and mapping tool as part of a major upgrade by Admiral’s Cleveland, Ohio-based systems developer; Andrews Software, Inc.  The new software release includes enhanced functionality for managing environmentally sensitive media; specifically related to setting up rotation schedules for back-up computer tapes. The new mapping utility can also be linked directly to Microsoft MapPoint and other logistics systems for handling deliveries and pick-ups of storage boxes, media cases, security consoles and destruction containers.

The third innovation represents a powerful option for digital archiving; including both a flexible software interface in conjunction with fully integrated electronic storage facilities.  Admiral Records Management partner Image Fortress, of Westford, Mass., developed the digital archive solution. Image Fortress was recently awarded a contract by the General Services Administration (GSA), the federal agency responsible for employing over a million people, for digital archive services; a testimonial to the level of technology now available to Admiral’s customers.

Businesses and organizations that store and protect records and archival data can use InfoKeeper’s secure online interface to handle either physical or electronic information. After input, Admiral Records Management customers can then access any information assets and enjoy retrieval and/or delivery 24 hours a day; 365 days a year.

McNelley confirmed that several customers have already placed requests for the new management systems and are excited about the efficiencies, improved workflow, enhanced control and reduced business risks associated with use of these new tools.

Leading business mover now leading in records management

Leading business mover now leading in records management

MONTGOMERY – For business, industry and government, keeping past records is a necessity, often a legal protection, and sometimes government required.

Attics, basements, closets, offices and storerooms are filled with files and records that businesses, medical and professional organizations must keep. Often, inactive local government records must be maintained for life. The hazard for all, however, might be a natural disaster, fire, flood, faulty filing systems, or security breach in a less-than-secure facility.

In some cases, building contractors, architects, lawyers, realtors and other professionals have so much “stuff” they store the document and data records off-premise, in lesser expensive space, and request they be brought to their offices when needed.

Keeping such records organized, safe and accessible is essential.

Enter Admiral Records Management, a sister company to Admiral Movers, which for nearly 20 years has become the dominant mover of offices in central Alabama.

Recognizing the needs of his clients for adequate long-term records storage and management, founder Scott McNelley started the new company, which provides solutions for secure storage of large quantities of data, after he purchased a new building in Montgomery Industrial Park.

The full-service records management and off-site document storage company offers the latest bar code technology for record storage, retrieval and document tracking. The state-of-the-art facilities are monitored 24 hours a day, have secured keypad entry and are protected by video surveillance.  The new Admiral Records Management storage firm allows business records to be customized by industry, whether medical, legal, industrial, business or government.

Records can be gathered, faxed or delivered on request. Online direct storage data is available from the customer who can search, post, perform data entry, track files and handle other business records management tasks from their own offices.

Admiral Records Management uses the latest technology for high-density storage solutions to offices, hospitals, banks, libraries, schools, museums, archives, factories, warehouses, laboratories, and military bases.
